In May, 2017, the Swedish Institute announced a competition, called the Smart Energy Challenge, for members of the Swedish Institute Network For Future Global Leaders and the Swedish Institute Alumni Network , to develop ideas about how to encourage people to use less energy and more sustainably.
The Swedish Institute Network For Future Global Leaders is a community of current SI scholarship holders and offers them exclusive networking opportunities during their time in Sweden while SI Alumni Network is a community for past scholarship holders that the Swedish Institute supports to ensure a lasting relationship between Sweden and scholarship holders after their time in Sweden. So, I am automatically a member of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders.
The winning prize for this competition is an invitation to an exclusive two-day event in Stockholm in November, organized by the Social Entrepreneurship Forum. The event will also afford winners of the competition an opportunity to meet with experts in entrepreneurship and sustainability and to build a valuable network.
I got to know about the competition less than a week to the deadline, but that didn’t stop me from signing up with my idea, and in September, I was informed that I was one of the 19 winners of the competition.
Yeah, you want to know about the idea I submitted? Well, I’ll do that after the event in Stockholm in November. 😉
